Delete your Liftgeist account

You can delete your Liftgeist account and everything synced to it at any time. You do not need to contact us first, and we do not ask why.

In the app (fastest)

Open Liftgeist and make sure you are signed in.
Go to the You tab.
Tap the gear icon, then Settings.
Scroll to Delete account and confirm twice.

Deletion happens immediately. There is no waiting period and no deactivated state.

By email

If you cannot reach the app, email [email protected] from the address on your account with the subject line "Delete my account". We will delete it and confirm when it is done, within 30 days and usually much sooner.

What gets deleted

Your account and sign-in identity, including your email address.
Your entire synced ledger: programs, workouts, every logged set, personal records, bodyweight and waist check-ins, all meals with their notes, macros and photo thumbnails, your targets, and your readiness check-ins.

What stays, and how to remove it. The copy of your data already on the device you were using is not touched by account deletion, because it lives on your device rather than on our servers.

iOS and Android: delete the Liftgeist app to remove it.
Web: clear site data for liftgeist.com and app.liftgeist.com in your browser settings.

Other things worth knowing

Backups. Deleted data may persist in routine encrypted database backups for a short period before those backups rotate out. It is not restored to the service.
Automatic snapshots. Separately from those backups, the database keeps a safety net of recent snapshots of your synced row, at most the last 24, so a bad write can be undone. Deleting your account removes them in the same step. They are unreadable to the app and never restored to the service.
Liftgeist Pro. Apple processes Pro purchases and keeps their records against your Apple ID, not your Liftgeist account, so deleting your account neither cancels nor refunds Pro. It restores on the same Apple ID with Restore purchases, and refunds go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Guest mode. If you never made an account, nothing was ever synced. Deleting the app or clearing site data removes everything.
Export first. Deletion cannot be undone. If you want a copy, export your complete account as a JSON file, free, from the web dashboard at web.liftgeist.com before you delete.
